About the Program

Gudrun Sjödén: A Swedish Designer’s Vision that Celebrates Color, Sustainability, and Joy for All Ages

Dr. Alison Aune will present an overview of the colorful designs of Gudrun Sjödén. As a brand ambassador since 2015, Alison has met with Gudrun on several occasions and in 2019 she helped facilitate a culturally respectful fashion collaboration between Gudrun and I am Anishinaabe founder and designer Delina White, an enrolled member of the Minnesota Chippewa Band of Ojibwe. The program will include a behind the scenes look at the Stockholm headquarters where Alison has taken UMD students in her class Nordic Art and Design as well as a look at the new St. Louis Park warehouse! Wear your favorite Gudrun outfit for a colorful program!
